Bhubaneswar, Feb 4
The Odisha government’s Subhadra Yojana, which aims to provide financial assistance to women, is facing delays due to a high number of pending transactions. According to reports, State Bank of India (SBI) account holders have the highest number of National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) pending cases, causing distress among beneficiaries.
Pending Transactions Cause Concern
The scheme provides financial aid directly to women’s bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). However, a significant number of transactions remain stuck due to NPCI-related issues, particularly for SBI customers. Beneficiaries have complained that they have not yet received the funds despite being eligible.
Government officials have acknowledged the issue and are in discussions with SBI and NPCI to resolve the delays. Many affected beneficiaries have been advised to check their bank account details, ensuring they are correctly linked with Aadhaar and NPCI to avoid further issues.
Government Steps In
Authorities are working closely with banks to speed up the disbursement process. Officials have urged SBI to clear the backlog at the earliest and ensure smooth fund transfers for all beneficiaries.
Impact on Beneficiaries
The delays have caused inconvenience, as many women rely on the scheme’s financial support. Several beneficiaries have visited banks multiple times, hoping for updates on their payments.
The Odisha government has assured that efforts are being made to resolve the issue quickly. Beneficiaries are encouraged to reach out to their bank branches and verify their account and Aadhaar linkage to prevent further delays.
